SVKM’s IOT, Dhule organised an Industrial visit to MAHAGENCO’s Nashik Thermal Power Plant, located at Eklahare village for Third Year Electrical Engineering students on 26th July 2019. Students were accompanied by the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Gaurav B Patil and Prof. Farha Naz.
The goal of the industrial visit was to know the actual working of Thermal Power station and its various components.
The students were guided by Assistant Engineer of the plant. The industrial visit included introductory lecture at the NTPS sub-center, visit to different sections of the unit where students got the opportunity to see the actual components along with their working which they had studied in their curriculum. This kind of experience made the students to understand the theoretical concepts by practically learning it.
Plant details –
Plant capacity : 630 MW
Operating Unit : 3 Units of 210 MW each
Daily coal consumption : 10 tons
For one unit of 210 MW
Temperature : 540oC
Pressure : 137 kg/cm2
The giant statue of shaktiman made up of scrap material made the students learn and understand to make use of waste material to beautify the environment using their engineering knowledge.
Such kind of Industrial visit boost the spirit of students and encourage them to make the learning easy and fun.
